Northwest Vaughan · Vaughan, Ontario
Kleinburg
A historic village setting in Vaughan's northwest, known for its main-street shops, the McMichael Canadian Art Collection and a mix of heritage homes and large newer estate-style builds.

Kleinburg is the part of Vaughan that feels least like a subdivision. The village core along Islington Avenue has kept its scale — small storefronts, restaurants, galleries — and the surrounding streets range from heritage houses to some of the largest newer homes in the city. It draws buyers who want space and a distinct sense of place, and it generally sits at the higher end of Vaughan's price range.
Housing in Kleinburg
- Heritage and character homes in and around the village core.
- Large newer detached and estate-style homes in the surrounding developments.
- Rural and ravine-adjacent properties on the edges, with notably larger lots.
Everyday life and amenities
- The McMichael Canadian Art Collection and Kortright Centre for Conservation are both nearby.
- A walkable village main street with restaurants, cafés and independent shops.
- Green space and trails along the Humber River valley.
Getting around and commuting
Kleinburg is north and west of most of Vaughan's transit infrastructure, so commuting typically means driving to Highway 427, Highway 400 or a GO station. Buyers who commute downtown daily should test the drive at their actual commute time before committing.

Questions about Kleinburg
- Is Kleinburg expensive?
- Kleinburg generally sits at the higher end of Vaughan's market because of its lot sizes, larger newer homes and village setting. There is still range within it — a heritage home near the core and a newer estate build are very different purchases. TODO (Carmen): add a current, sourced price range once verified.
- Is Kleinburg a good place for families?
- It appeals to families who want space, quiet streets and proximity to green space, and who don't mind driving for school runs, sports and errands. Families who want walkable amenities and frequent transit usually look further south or east in Vaughan.
